BNI Idaho Substitute Program
Why Visit Other Chapters?
|
Why Visit Other Chapters?
We encourage members to visit other chapters. Here are some reasons:
- To learn and carry back things to your own chapter
- To build relationships for substitutes (see substitute program below)
- To "sell" your chapter for colleagues of the other chapter members
- To promote good will and trust between chapters. We are not in competition with one another, we all have the same goals. Visitors that have professions already represented should be directed to attend other chapters where there are openings.
- To demonstrate, just by your presentation and presence, BNI etiquette
and encourage others in their growth
- To build relationships, access broader services, and keep your business
within BNI, even if it's not in your own chapter

Substitute Program
Sometimes you need a substitute when you can't attend your meeting. It is best if you have a non-BNI member stand in for you, perhaps a partner or customer or other business colleague. If that isn't possible, members have offered to substitute for other members.

Here are some guidelines for you:
- You must be in different chapters.
- The person requesting the sub should pay for breakfast/lunch.
- The requestor should give their commercial to the substitute.
- The commercial is for the person you are subbing for, not your own commercial. Here's an example of a substitute's commercial:
"Good morning. I am Beth Anderson of WomenSites.com and today I am substituting for Nancy Giacomuzzi. Nancy is a realtor with Coldwell Banker Burnet and she helps people buy and sell homes...."
If you would like to be a substitute, edit your member record.
If you are looking for a substitute, go to the Member Search page and select Yes for the "Is A Substitute" field.
